Hypothecation Removal (Form 35) – How to Update RC After Loan Closure

When you buy a vehicle on loan, your RC contains Hypothecation — meaning ownership shared with the bank.

Once your loan is fully paid:

  • Bank gives NOC
  • Hypothecation must be removed from RC
  • You become the full owner legally

This process is called Hypothecation Termination.

Why Hypothecation Removal is Important?

If hypothecation is not removed:

  • You can't sell vehicle
  • Insurance claims may get delayed
  • RC considered incomplete
  • Loan closure not reflected legally
